MoreI studied photography at NSCAD University during my film degree. I was taught in the old school, using film and darkrooms to create dynamic images. After NSCAD, I moved to Vancouver and opened a portrait studio that focused on actors. I also worked for several real-estate agencies including Vantage-West Reality and Royal LePage, photographing premium real-estate in the Okanagan region.
I also work with a PR Company. During my time with the firm, I photographed for the Toronto Star, Condolife, Homes Publishing, CoStar and Homes Magazine. I worked with the biggest developers in Canada including Davpart Inc, Caraco, Marlin Springs and Podium Developments. Balancing artistic vision with business development is a delicate, but powerful dance.
Narrative filmmaking is not only a passion of mine, but is ultimately therapeutic. As filmmakers, or more precisely storytellers, we all strive to understand the evolving nature of the human condition. Filmmaking makes us believe in change and transformation, giving us hope in these turbulent times.
My professor and mentor in cinematography, Tarek Abouamin, told me during my first year at NSCAD University, “All that matters is the creation of good cinema.” From him, I also learned that cinema is about collaboration and integration, not individual goals or ideologies. During my first project as the cinematographer, our entire creative team fell victim to egotism and the film suffered. I promised myself I would do my best to never let this happen again, which I carry into my design ethos.
I worked my way through my first degree at William F. White (Whites) and was a member of the Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative (AFCOOP) during my time at NSCAD on their programs committee. After the completion of my degree I joined the IATSE667 camera union, working on several broadcast shows such as The Best Years, Flashpoint and Being Erica. I also worked on over 25 independent products in the Toronto area in various capacities over the last 10 years.

IMBDSpeculative prototyping is meant to examine the future in the parameters of user experience. These parameters push the belief that design can be a change for good, and that good design can be a means of unity and compassion. Speculative design is boundless, therefore outlandish ideas can be used to break preconceived notions leading to design as a means of creation.
The EPA is a speculative prototype that helps combat alienation due to prolong digital device use. This device increases empathy production creating a balanced cybernetic loop between users and smartphone technology allowing for a more proactive and healthy experience.
